This morning, the longlist was announced for the 2019 Scotiabank Photography Award. The winner of the award—which honours achievements of established mid-to-late-career artists—receives $50,000. Each of two runners-up receives $10,000.
Candidates for the award may live and work anywhere in the world, but must have Canadian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Canada. The winner will be announced at the Ryerson Image Centre in Toronto on May 7. A shortlist of three will be announced March 13.
