On October 3, 2012, award-winning author Ross King gave a lecture at the Royal Ontario Museum as part of the Canadian Art Foundation International Speaker Series. The lecture addressed his new book Leonardo and The Last Supper, which went on to win the Governor General’s Award for non-fiction on November 13. King’s book is both a record of Leonardo da Vinci’s last five years in Milan and a biography of one of the most famous works of art ever painted. During the course of the lecture—the full version of which is posted below—King revealed why The Last Supper ensured Leonardo’s universal renown as a visionary master of the arts.
