Dan Cameron is a leading American curator and a widely published writer. He has worked as the Senior Curator at the New Museum, New York (1995–2007), as the Artistic Director of the 8th International Istanbul Biennial (2003), the Co-Organizer of the 10th Taipei Biennial (2006), and most as the Director of Visual Arts for Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans (2007–2010). In 2008, Cameron founded Prospect New Orleans, the largest international exhibition of contemporary art presented in the United States. Committed to the principle that contemporary art could play a significant role in the cultural and financial revitalization of post-Katrina New Orleans, “Prospect.1 New Orleans” featured 81 local and international artists, who exhibited work at 24 venues located throughout the city and generated over $23 million in economic activity. “Prospect.2 New Orleans” was open to the public from October 22, 2011, until January 29, 2012.
