Théberge reappointed at NGC

The National Gallery of Canada announced this week that Pierre Théberge will continue as Director of the NGC through 2008. Donald Sobey, Chair of the NGC Board of Trustees, announced the reappointment. Théberge has been Director of the NGC since January 1998.

“The reappointment of Mr. Théberge to this important position for Canada’s visual arts community will ensure that the National Gallery continues to have strong and experienced leadership during the selection process that the Board of Trustees of the Gallery will launch to recruit a new Director and Chief Executive Officer,” said Sobey. The successful candidate is to take office at the end of Mr. Théberge’s new term.

Pierre Théberge was born in 1942 in St-Éleuthère, in the Kamouraska region of Quebec.
