Toronto-based curator and collector Stefan Hancherow is now interim administrative director at the artist-run centre Hamilton Artists Inc. He is filling in for Andrea Carvalho, who is currently on leave.
Hancherow, who is also assistant curator with the Sobey Art Award, recently curated “Brand New Aura,” an online exhibition of works by Jon Rafman, presented in part by the AGO and the Google Art Project. He also co-curated “The King and I” with Eleanor King at NSCAD University.
He is also a member of the art advisory committee the Canadian Art Foundation’s 2014 Gallery Hop Gala and Auction, a fundraiser for the publisher of Canadian Art which takes place September 18 in Toronto.
Hancherow is an alumnus of NSCAD University, and he graduated from OCAD University with an MFA in Criticism & Curatorial Practice in 2013. He will be curating projects for OCAD University’s Nuit Blanche activities this October, as well as for Georgia Scherman Projects and MSVU Art Gallery in 2015.
