Ossie Michelin Appointed Editor-at-Large at Canadian Art

Canadian Art is pleased to announce that Ossie Michelin is one of two new editors-at-large who joined the organization in early August

Ossie Michelin is an Inuk journalist, editor, and filmmaker from the community of North West River, Labrador. For more than ten years he has contributed to Canadian news broadcasts, publications, and websites, including five years as a video journalist for APTN National News. His work documenting Indigenous Land Defenders has received awards and international acclaim and he is currently working on a film with the NFB, called Evan’s Drum. Michelin comes from a long line of storytellers and carries a lifelong love and appreciation of the arts.

He has contributed writing to past issues, and was also a copy advisor to Canadian Art’s Spring 2019 issue, Spacetime, with guest editors Kablusiak and asinnajaq and is looking forward to expanding Canadian Art’s content and coverage of Inuit and northern Indigenous artists.
