Lindsey Sharman has been appointed art curator for the Founders’ Gallery at the Military Museums in Calgary.

Sharman recently returned to Calgary from Europe, where she completed her master’s in curating from the Zurich University of the Arts. She is a native of Saskatchewan and received her BA in art history from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to her studies abroad, she worked as a gallery assistant and web designer at Masters Gallery in Calgary.

Sharman took up her new duties in the 4,000-square-foot gallery earlier this summer. The gallery is currently hosting “A Brush with War: Military Art from Korea to Afghanistan,” an exhibition organized by the Canadian War Museum in partnership with the Directorate of History and Heritage, Department of National Defence.

The Founders’ Gallery was officially opened on June 6, 2009, as a public exhibition space with the goal of contributing to Canadians’ understanding of national military experience in the field of human conflict. It is now under the programming direction of the University of Calgary.
