On Saturday, January 6, join Canadian Art‘s assistant editor Merray Gerges in conversation with the Aga Khan Museum’s senior exhibitions manager, Sarah Beam-Borg, and artist Jamelie Hassan. A Governor General’s Award winner, Hassan has been collected by the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario and has three artworks in the Aga Khan Museum exhibition “HERE: Locating Contemporary Canadian Artists.” This conversation marks the final weekend of the exhibition, which invites visitors to discover what an ancient Roman carving from the museum’s collection, reused and repurposed throughout time, can tell us about being Canadian. Hassan, Gerges and Beam-Borg will engage with the exhibition and the questions it raises in new and provocative ways. This event is presented in partnership with the Aga Khan Museum. RSVP is required.
