Join Canadian Art, in partnership with The Power Plant and the Toronto Biennial of Art, for an afternoon of conversation and the launch our Fall 2019 issue, “Undoing Painting.

On the occasion of Hajra Waheed’s solo exhibition “Hold Everything Dear,” her installation at the Toronto Biennial and a related feature in Canadian Art’s fall issue, the artist will discuss the evolution of her multidisciplinary practice in conversation with The Power Plant’s guest curator Nabila Abdel Nabi and Canadian Art’s editor-in-chief Jayne Wilkinson. In a wide-ranging conversation, the panellists will examine themes of surveillance, mass migration and the politics of archives and collections in relation to their respective practices.

Following the conversation, join Canadian Art for a reception on the patio of The Slip next door at the Harbourfont Centre; sign up for a subscription at the event and you’ll take home a free copy of the Fall 2019 issue.

Conversation: 1:30–3:00 p.m. at Lakeside Terrace, Harbourfront Centre
Reception: 3:00–4:00 p.m. at The Slip, exterior Harbourfront Centre
