Catherine M. Soussloff is Professor of Art History, Visual Art & Theory at the University of British Columbia. She is the author of: Foucault on Painting (Minnesota); The Absolute Artist: The Historiography of a Concept (Minnesota), The Subject in Art: Portraiture and the Birth of the Modern (Duke). She has written essays and edited books on art, film, aesthetics, and art history.
