Vanessa Parent is a feminist art historian and writer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, unceded territory of the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) people. She earned a PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of British Columbia and specializes in post-WWII European art, performance, feminist art practice, Marxist feminism and critical theory. Her work has appeared in IKON and Blind Field: A Journal of Cultural Inquiry. She is also a dance instructor and a committed supporter of sex workers’ rights.
