From November 7 to December 5, Art45 will present a series of small scale paintings and works on paper by Canadian painter Landon Mackenzie.

Landon Mackenzie became known for her Lost River paintings, a series of large scale works which she produced in Montreal in the early 1980’s. The Art Gallery of Ontario, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery have collected her work.
In 2014, the Vancouver Art Gallery held Emily Carr and Landon Mackenzie: Wood Chopper and the Monkey, an exhibition of over 50 works, which established an important dialogue between the two women painters. Landon Mackenzie: Parallel Journeya solo survey exhibition of works on paper rarely exhibited is on view at the Kelowna Art Gallery (October 24 – January 16, 2016).
The artist currently lives and works in Vancouver, where she has been professor of Visual Arts at Emily Carr University of Art and Design since 1986.
